Cash prizes are awarded to the top three essayists

Purpose: To encourage, recognize, and support (through cash prizes) scholarly research within the SESAUA.

Eligibility: Essay contest is open to residents of urology programs in the SESAUA, as well as urologists (within 10 years of residency training) who practice within the geographic area of the SESAUA.

Procedure: Four (4) copies of the completed manuscript (together with all figures and legends in the format acceptable for publication in the Journal of Urology) should be submitted to:

Include a cover sheet containing the title of the manuscript, author’s name, institution and contact information.  Manuscripts will be reviewed anonymously. No information revealing the submitting institution should be present in the final manuscript.

Finalists in the Essay Competition will be invited to present the results of their investigations at the upcoming SESAUA Annual Meeting. Winners will be announced prior to the Annual Business Meeting. Prizes and plaques will be given following presentations during the meeting. The first prize is $1,000, second prize $750 and third prize is $500.

Deadline: Manuscripts must be postmarked by the Deadline: October 15, 2011
